The 44th International Cultural Moussem of Asilah (North), like the previous one, will be held in two editions, the first one between July 4-25, and the second between October 6-27, confirmed the Asilah Forum Foundation on Monday.
The summer edition will be devoted to the Plastic Arts and will be marked by the organization of two colloquia entitled “Moroccan Contemporary Art and the Cultural Question” (July 14-15) and “Moroccan Painting and Critical Discourse” (July 20-21), as well as a tribute to the painter Abdelkbir Rabie on July 16.
As has been a tradition during the Moussem since 1978, the artistic program includes a mural painting workshop from July 4-9, with 13 artists.
Following in the footsteps of their elders, young artists will participate in the “Children’s Mural Painting Workshop,” as well.
The Foundation will host Plastic Arts workshops (mural painting, engraving, and lithography) from July 10-25, with the participation of 29 artists from various countries.
The galleries of the “Centre Hassan II des Rencontres Internationales” will host a joint exhibition by the two Moroccan artists Narjiss El Joubari and Mohammed Enzaoui, as well as an exhibition of works by the “Atelier des Enfants du Moussem” and a children’s painting workshop, “Les Talents du Moussem,” beginning on July 15.
The Fine Arts program will also include a group exhibition by the “Jeunes Peintres d’Asilah” (Young Painters of Asilah) in the Diwan Exhibition Gallery, as well as works by Moroccan painter Mouad Jebbari in the Palais de la Culture galleries.
The Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Library will welcome the educational program of the “Literary Creativity” workshop.
Around 350 scholars, influential philosophers, policymakers, poets, and media professionals will attend the 44th Moussem’s fall session.
