The Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) issued a press release on Sunday to defend the Atlas Lionesses against recent allegations concerning team deserting and deviation of acceptable behavior by various national team players, posted by certain social media pages, thus damaging the image of the national women’s team.
The Federation guarantees that all players and members of the women’s selection staff are present in Switzerland, with the Lionesses scheduled to face the Swiss squad on Wednesday following their 0-0 draw with Italy.
The organization pledged that it will use all legal means to protect the members of the national women’s team–as well as all other components of Moroccan football–from any false accusations.
The national team is scheduled to compete in the 2023 World Cup, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20.
