Almost 50% of Moroccans plan to travel this summer, up 3% from last year, according to a survey by Sunergia Group on Moroccans’ Summer Holidays in 2023.
According to the poll, those aged between 18 and 24 are more willing to travel this summer than other age groups, with a rate of 55%, while 59% of the upper class population also intending to travel.
In terms of travel destinations, the poll reveals that 83% of respondents favor domestic travels, while only 16% opt for travelling abroad.
The survey also shows that participants who choose to travel outside the country are more likely to be men (aged between 25 and 34, or 55 and up). 4% of the sampled populations did not express any destination preferences.
Concerning the less privileged class, the survey shows that 35% of people are not planning a trip this summer, probably due to inflation, and air ticket, catering and accommodation prices which surged tremendously this year.
