Morocco’s football team defeated Congo (0-1), on Friday at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, as part of the U-23 AFCON, strengthening its lead in Group A with 9 points.
Morocco’s left-winger Younes Taha opened the scoring with a long-range goal in the 7th minute.
The second half of the match witnessed several scoring attempts from both sides, especially the Moroccan squad which kept a clean sheet in the game.
Atlas Lions secured a spot in the semis of the U-23 African Cup of Nations.
As the top team in Group A, Morocco will face the second-ranked team from Group B in a match where the country will also compete for a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games.
