President of the Royal Federation of Computer Games (F.R.M.J.E.) Hicham El Khlifi was elected unanimously as President of the African Confederation of Digital Sports (A.C.D.S.)–during the meeting of the Constitutive General Assembly of the organization hosted by the Kingdom, on Monday in Casablanca–which brought together 40 African countries.
This effort intends to promote and develop the culture of this practice in Africa by assembling all African nations’ national digital sports administration authorities.
Following his election, EL Khlifi remarked that the A.C.D.S. Constitutive General Assembly heralds the start of a new era for digital sports in Africa. It aims to make Africa a significant player in the global digital sports sector by providing opportunities for outstanding athletes, encouraging inclusivity, and motivating the fan base.
These operations are considered legal entities and are recognized by international organizations such as federations, consortiums, foreign government agencies, etc., and their acts are formally acknowledged by the communities within their region with a standardized administrative and operational procedure.
The A.C.D.S. is thus determined to strengthen Africa’s presence in the field of digital sports and to offer new opportunities to African talent. A.C.D.S. members look forward to working in collaboration with video game industry stakeholders, governments, companies, associations, and gamers to create a sustainable environment for digital sports in Africa.
The assembly was an opportunity to solidify the foundations of this continental organization dedicated to the promotion and development of digital sports in Africa. Participants discussed the key objectives, priorities, and strategies that will purportedly guide A.C.D.S. in its mission to establish a thriving domain for digital sports on the continent.
