Morocco, whose Sovereign King Mohammed VI chairs the Al Quds Committee, reiterated its rejection and condemnation of all Israeli violations and unilateral measures taken in Jenin, a Palestinian town in the West Bank, Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said on Friday in Rabat.
The statement was made during a press conference by Bourita and Swiss Federal Advisor, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis, who was on a visit to Morocco.
The Kingdom is worried about the recent disturbing events taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories, amid an already tense and strained regional and international context, said Bourita.
This unilateral move inflames the situation, and impedes the reviving of the regional peace process, he added.
Morocco condemns the recent Israeli offensives that have resulted in a number of deaths and injuries, as well as the recent decision to expand Israel’s settlements in the West Bank, Bourita said.
In this regard, the Moroccan senior official explained that the Negev Forum was delayed because the political juncture was not favorable, adding that the meeting embraces the tenets of cooperation and dialogue, and runs counter provocative unilateral actions.
