One of Britain’s most wanted criminals Nana Oppong was deported Tuesday to the UK, after being caught in Tangier’s Port last September using falsified docs, according to the National Crime Agency (NCA).
The suspect had traveled to the country from Spain aboard a lorry.
Oppong, aged 43, is wanted by the NCA for shooting eight times a 50yo man outside a party in Water Lane, Harlow, in June 2020.
The suspect is also wanted by Metropolitan Police Service for his alleged use of encrypted messaging platform Encrochat.
He is charged with conspiracy to possess firearms with the intent to threaten lives, conspiracy to possess firearms, conspiracy to supply cocaine, and money laundering.
He was brought on Wednesday before the Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court and was ordered to appear the following day at the Chelmsford Crown Court.
The UK’s Ambassador to Morocco, Simon Martin CMG, said: “The UK enjoys a very positive relationship with Morocco across many areas, including working in partnership to tackle serious organized crime.”
