Andrew Tate, the controversial British-American former kickboxer and current social media influencer who recently has become the object of admiration for millions of male youth and young men across the world, was indicted in a Romanian court today on charges of rape, human trafficking, and organizing a criminal gang, according to CNN.
Tate and his brother were first arrested in Bucharest last December and were detained in police custody until March, when he was placed under house arrest at his self-proclaimed “Hustler’s Academy.”
The pair–along with two others as of yet unnamed by authorities–have been charged with seven abuses against women, including rape and subjecting the victims to physical violence, mental coercion, and sexual exploitation.
Property, cars, currency, and other valuables totaling in excess of $385 million USD have been seized by authorities thus far.
Tate and his gang refute these allegations, and–as apparently everyone who is indicted these days does when the evidence piles up–counterclaim the existence of a vast political conspiracy to silence them.
The former kickboxer, who announced last October that he had converted to Islam–gave reasons for his conversion which were wildly antithetical and contradictory to the conduct for which he is today accused of–and for which he himself has advocated in his social media accounts.
The polarizing personality, who has flat-out bragged about engaging in violence against women, admitted to dating teenagers because of their vulnerability to be groomed. He has since been banned from most social media platforms; however, Twitter has unsurprisingly reinstated his account since Elon Musk purchased the company.
His TikTok platform has so far recorded over 11 billion hits, largely from impressionable male teens desperate for someone to emulate.
Another incessantly toxic theme of Tate’s tweets is the idea that the pursuit of wealth and power–along once again with the subjugation of women–is all that really matters in life.
Does the new religion really want the “taint” of Andrew Tate?
