Police services at the Tangier Med Port (North) apprehended, on Saturday, a 51-year-old Spanish citizen and foiled an international drug trafficking operation of 1 ton and 50 Kg of cannabis resin (Chira), according to security sources.
Preliminary investigations showed that the trafficker was caught red-handed while attempting to smuggle the drug in a vehicle carrying a foreign license plate, added the source.
The suspect was remanded in police custody to complete the investigation into this criminal activity.
