By a stroke of luck, Bafana scored the first goal in the 7th minute due to an own goal by Moroccan goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi El Kajoui.
South Africa’s Zakhele Lepasa notched a goal in the 49th minute. However, Morocco’s maestro Hakim Ziyech responded with a sensational goal netted at the 60th minute closing the gap.
This is the ninth game between South Africa and Morocco and the second on South African soil.
Regardless of the outcome of this match, both teams have already secured spots in next year’s AFCON (2024) Championships.
