The Mohammed VI Tower in Rabat won the “Caminos Madrid 2022” Award for “Best Performance in Engineering Projects”.
This annual award, presented by the Madrid College of Civil Engineers, is considered a benchmark accolade in the world of construction.
The prize was handed to “O Tower,” the subsidiary of “O Capital Group,” which is led by Othman Benjelloun, at a ceremony held at the Matadero in Madrid, as well as to “Bernabeu Ingenieros,” the engineering firm in charge of the building’s design.
The 250-meter tower required 13,000 tons of concrete and 8,520 tons of steel framework.
The Mohammed VI Tower is a mixed-use real-estate development with residential, hotel, office, and service components. It is a key element in the development of the Bouregreg Valley and is the tallest building in Africa to date.
The completion of the project, which started in July 2017, was announced for 2023.
