Algeria is continuing its attempts, in vain, to integrate the polisario militia football team into the Confederation of African Football (C.A.F.), but the latter has rejected this request, reports Africa Intelligence.
The Algerian move follows the formal announcement of the formation of a polisario football “selection” in Algiers in May. This statement was followed by the organization of a match versus the Mouloudia d’Alger on May 20.
President of the Algerian Senate Salah Goudjil took over the relay by welcoming the polisario team’s players and technical personnel.
Algeria plans to revive the polisario’s bid at the 45th Ordinary General Assembly of C.A.F., to be held in Benin on July 13.
