IFC Regional Vice President for Africa Sérgio Pimenta is on a two-day visit to Morocco, starting Monday, and would meet with stakeholders from both public and private spheres, in preparation for the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Marrakech.
As mentioned in his twitter account, Pimenta will attend important meetings with key government officials, including the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development and the Governor of Al-Maghrib Bank (central bank).
He will also meet with influential business leaders such as the OCP President. The purpose of these meetings is to strengthen IFC’s commitment to boosting Morocco’s economic development.
IFC had invested, since 1962, $3.5 billion to support Morocco’s small businesses, manufacturers, agro-industries, infrastructure, and the financial sector.
