Moroccan organization “Don’t Touch My Child” called for initiating legal proceedings against child rapists, issuing travel ban against them and not granting them bail, said the civil society body in a press release Monday.
This came in the wake of the recent arrest of a 36-year-old foreign tourist of Arab nationality over the suspicion of involvement in attempted indecent assault and sexual exploitation of minors.
The organization recalled the previous incident of the Kuwaiti rapist tourist, who, though raped and filmed a minor, was bailed out before his trial and allowed to leave the Moroccan territory.
Police services arrested, Saturday in Casablanca, the new suspect in flagrante delicto with three minors aged between 16 and 17yo. The tip-off came from the hotel manager who noticed that the guest received minors in his room against hotel policy.
The suspect was remanded in police custody to complete the investigation. He is said to be involved in similar rape cases in Marrakesh and Tangier.
