Polisario is Criminal, Dangerous Entity for Regional Security, French expert

The polisario is a “criminal” and “dangerous” organization that undermines regional security in North Africa, said French expert in geopolitics Jérôme Besnard.
In an article published by news outlet “Causeur.fr”, the pundit said that the polisario is involved in various forms of trafficking in the desert, thus contributing to destabilizing the Sahara region.
The opinion piece entitled “The Polisario Front: fifty years of crimes and deceptions”, describes how the polisario’s opponents are tortured, how child soldiers are paraded, and how basic rights are trampled in the Tindouf camps. “The list of offenses committed by polisario against Tindouf camps’ dwellers is long, as confirmed regularly by NGOs before the 4th Committee of the United Nations in New York,” he said.
According to the expert, the power of such corrupt, shady paramilitary mechanism stems from Algeria’s support. “No one can deny Algeria’s constant support for the separatist movement, a relic of the Cold War.”
He added that the separatists’ misappropriation of humanitarian aid, mainly from Europe, was confirmed by EU and UN reports, saying that Algerian financial aid enables the polisario leaders to revel in luxury.
Concerning the autonomy plan suggested by Morocco as a definitive solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue, the French expert affirmed that support for this initiative is steadily growing, notably from the United States.
