The 4th Morocco-Burkina Faso Joint Committee was held, on Friday in Dakhla, under the co-chairmanship of Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Burkinabe counterpart Olivia Ragnaghnèwendé Rouamba. The session was crowned by the signing of 12 agreements on bilateral cooperation.
The parties signed an administrative assistance agreement in customs domain and a prisoner transfer agreement.
They also inked an action plan for 2024-2025 to promote judicial cooperation, a MoU on water resources management, and agreements on decentralized cooperation, tourism, sports, education and training.
The Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) will allocate 130 scholarships yearly to students from Burkina Faso.
In addition, the Moroccan Academy of Diplomatic Studies and the Burkina Faso Institute for Higher International Studies (INHEI) signed an agreement to foster partnership in matters linked to international law and diplomatic affairs.
On this occasion, Burkina Faso has reiterated its support for Morocco’s autonomy plan for the Sahara, affirming that it is the “only credible and practical solution” to resolve the artificial dispute over the region.
