The African Development Bank (AfDB) has pledged 120 million euros (1.3 Bln MAD) to Support Inclusive Access to Health Infrastructure (PAAIIS) in Morocco, the bank announced on Thursday.
This program aims to improve access to health services and living conditions, especially for women living in rural or isolated areas.
The proposed measures include upgrading access to primary and secondary facilities, modernizing healthcare services through innovative solutions, and enhancing connectivity and governance by optimizing the allocation of human and financial resources.
The targeted regions are notably Beni Mellal-Khénifra, Draa-Tafilalet and Guelmin-Oued Noun, in addition to the establishment of care units for women and children in the new regional hospital of Guelmim and the provincial hospital of Fkih Ben Saleh.
Hospitals will be built and equipped with medico-technical platforms in Beni-Mellal Regional Hospital Center and the Azilal Provincial Hospital Center, said the press release.
As part of this endeavor, telemedicine and teleconsultation facilities will be established in remote sites, and the number of graduates from institutes of nursing and technical health professions will increase.
