Laayoune’s appeals court convicted six rapists to twenty years in prison each, following the rape of a child, according to various national news outlets.
The convicted are accused of the indecent assault of a minor, age 15, in Smara (Western Morocco).
The victim’s family filed a missing child complaint last January. Upon the victim’s return to his family home, he was found to have been kidnapped and held hostage by the perpetrators who had repeatedly raped him for the entire duration of his disappearance.
Police investigations revealed that the suspects are shopkeepers and butchers who enticed the minor with money.
The child predators were jailed in the local prison of Laayoune.
