The Moroccan cities of Marrakech and Agadir have claimed prominent positions–second and sixth place, respectively–for the best working destinations in Africa for this year, according to a recent study by Resume.io, featured in Business Insider Africa.
Marrakech, described by the report as “Morocco’s mesmerizing cultural hub,” enchants digital nomads with its fascinating markets and amazing architecture, offering a unique combination of work possibilities and cultural exploration.
The city offers a wide range of telecommuting spaces in creating an inspiring setting where those who work remotely can delve into their creativity in the dynamic surroundings and energy of the Red City.
Notably, Marrakech is not the only Moroccan city on the list. With a remarkable presence of more than 1,500 Instagram posts, the coastal gem of Agadir secured the sixth position as the continent’s best remote working location.
Agadir is a peaceful haven for digital nomads, offering serenity and natural beauty with its laid-back atmosphere and sun-soaked beaches. It offers plenty of telecommuting space (and spa options for the overworked employee) nestled within the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains, rendering it a peaceful haven for productive remote work, said the paper.
Resume.io carried out a poll that reviewed 25,976 Instagram photos with the hashtag #digitalnomad to identify the most popular remote working places in Africa. Cape Town, South Africa’s capital, secured the top spot with nearly 9,400 geotagged Instagram posts.
