The Pan-African Journalists Network (RJP) expressed its support for Moroccan journalist Abdessamad Nasser, who was recently expelled from Al Jazeera, according to a release published by the RJP.
Nasser had recently posted a statement on Twitter “defending the honor of Moroccan women, in a follow up to misleading information propagated by the official Algerian media,” which resulted in his termination of employment by the Qatari news channel via a unilateral decision, said the release.
RJP thereby considers Al Jazeera’s slogan, “The opinion…and the other opinion,” to be void of any value, and promised to defend the “dignity, independence and freedom of expression” of the journalist.
