Just days before baccalaureate final exams (final year of high school) were to commence, Moroccan police services conducted two successful sting operations, which resulted in aborted attempts to defraud the integrity of school final examinations in Laayoune (Southern provinces) and Guercif (East), arresting three individuals for flagrant violations relating to the trafficking of electronic devices used in fraud operations.
According to the same source, the first operation conducted in Laâyoune resulted in the arrest of a student and a trainee in vocational studies, both aged 21, for trafficking in contraband electronic devices intended for fraudulent purposes.
The defendants were apprehended in possession of two cell phones, five “VIP” type devices and cards, state-of-the-art wireless headphones, and 201 headphone batteries.
The Guercif police services conducted the second operation, which resulted in the arrest of an individual aged 22, in possession of two “VIP” electronic gadgets, two headphones, 33 batteries, and a charging cable.
The suspects were remanded into police custody to complete the investigation under the public prosecutor’s supervision.
