Spokesman for the Syrian reconciliation, Omar Rahmon, communicated through his personal Twitter account that his country’s position of lending legitimacy to the fictitious entity of polisario has not and will not change.
Prior to giving the green light to Syria’s return to the Arab League in early May, Morocco hesitated in backing the reconciliation precisely because of this very issue; namely, the Syrian government has recognized the so-called « sadr » since 1980.
Rahmon added fuel to the fire regarding his tweet on the expulsion of Moroccan journalist Abdessamad Nasser in previous days in continuing to ridicule the fate (expulsion) of the Moroccan journalist. He argued that the decision to deport Nasser was defended by many other Twitter users, that what transpired means nothing to him, and that he supports his country’s position.
The Syrian speaker did not squander the opportunity to express his contempt for Nasser by calling him a failed broadcaster who is no longer relevant in the grand scheme of things.
