Spanish authorities seized recently 322 kilograms of cocaine in one of its southern ports on its way to Algeria, according to BBC News.
A boat carrying this container–which had been packed with corn seeds in order to hide the contraband– arrived from Brazil and was on its way to the port of Oran in Algeria.
On May 29, 2018, 701 kg of cocaine was seized on a container ship transporting frozen meat from Brazil to Oran. The enormity of the amount obviously caught the attention of military and political leaders and magistrates.
More recently, in December 2021, 481 kg of cocaine was confiscated in Brazil prior to its identically intended route.
