Moroccan diplomacy is keeping up its efforts to isolate the polisario and its sponsor Algeria, as it is convincing more States to withdraw their recognition of the fake “sadr”, said Africa Intelligence in an article published on Tuesday.
The Newspaper gave the example of Morocco’s move to talk Tanzania out of supporting the militias and persuade it take a neutral stand.
This diplomatic strategy, led by King Mohammed VI, tries to curb polisario and Algeria’s actions either by mustering countries supportive of the Moroccan Sahara or by making sure that they remain unbiased and not recognize the so-called “sadr”.
The issue of the Moroccan Sahara has topped the agenda in recent talks and discussions between Morocco and Tanzania, despite Algerian maneuvers aimed at discouraging Tanzania from reversing its position in support of the separatist polisario gang.
According to the article, Morocco and Tanzania recently converged on shared matters and both parties want to enhance bilateral cooperation in all sectors.
The meeting between the Moroccan Upper House Speaker and Tanzania’s President of the National Assembly, last September in Rabat, was an occasion for the Kingdom to invite Tanzania to adopt positive neutrality in the highly contentious dispute over the Sahara.
