PrestaFreedom, a home services platform specializing in subscription-based cleaning and other services for individuals, received a $1.1 million investment from Azur Innovation Fund, a public-private investment fund specializing in funding creative entrepreneurs in Morocco, according to several news outlets.
The fund is now participating in the financing of another promising startup called DataPathology.
The company has reached a significant milestone and successfully completed a $1 million fundraising round. It also succeeded in raising 2 million DH from the Witamax fund run by Soax Partners a year and a half ago.
The goal of DataPathology is to accelerate cancer detection, particularly in medically underdeveloped nations like those in Africa.
The startup aims to provide a quick and safe pathological diagnosis to patients.
Their ground-breaking method entails performing a biopsy and producing a tissue sample at the patient’s examination location, digitizing it, and anonymously sending the digital file to the medical team for diagnosis using a web platform.
It has already established partnerships with international players in digital health and has set up the first digital pathological diagnosis center in Morocco.
The startup aspires to expand its network of laboratories in Morocco and Africa while strengthening the necessary infrastructure and logistics to increase the volume of data integrated and processed within its platform.
DataPathology, founded in 2020 by Mohammed El Khannoussi and Hicham El Attar, is a Moroccan MedTech startup specializing in pathology.
