The Royal Police Institute in Kenitra (IRP), and the Higher Institute of Magistracy (ISM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on Tuesday, to increase collaboration and facilitate the exchange of information on the heels of a Day of Study themed, “Police and Judicial Training as Essential Pillars for Ensuring Fair Trials.”
This pact is in accordance with and satisfies the requirements of the framework of the annual slate of basic and specialized training programs which police agents of various ranks and grades are required to undergo. The study day features academic interventions and presentations from the Royal Police Institute and the High Institute of Judiciary.
It highlights the importance of adhering to the principles of an impartial trial, judicial and legal protection for individuals identifying with special social categorizations, and emphasis of the role of scientific evidence, professional ethics, and procedural transparency.
The signing of the memorandum of cooperation between the two institutes–according to Ahmed Zaari, Director of the Royal Institute of Police–inaugurates a partnership in expertise sharing in order to support joint training efforts and promote skills in the security and judicial disciplines.
Abdelhanine Touzani, head of the Higher Institute of Magistracy, highlighted the importance of this memorandum as a prologue to an ambitious relationship, emphasizing the need for cooperation between the two institutes, recognized for the excellence of their training, not only on a regional but international level, as well.
