The Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue: Working Together for Our Common Future will be held in Marrakesh under the supervision of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Parliament of the Kingdom of Morocco, from June 13 to 15, 2023, said a release by the IPU.
The event is supported by the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and the Mohammadia League of Religious Scholars.
The Conference will bring together Speakers and members of parliament, religious leaders, civil society representatives, and other experts for dialogue and sharing best practices on key issues impeding peaceful coexistence and inclusive societies.
The IPU’s responsibility to promote peace and understanding through political discourse, collaboration, and parliamentary action includes addressing issues of inclusion and coexistence.
Morocco has always promoted tolerance and openness, and the Kingdom is devoted to the principles of tolerance and dialogue in order to build mutual understanding among all religions and cultures, as stated in its constitution.
The UIP, which now has 179 member parliaments and 14 regional legislative organizations, has been providing a unique and inclusive platform for lawmakers of all nationalities, confessions, and convictions to work together to address the world’s major challenges for many decades.
