Police services arrested, Tuesday in Meknes, a 67-year-old dealer and his minor assistant (17 years old) over the suspicion of involvement in the possession and sale of harmful alcoholic substances that led to the death of 8 consumers, while 8 others are still in the intensive care unit at Mohammed V Hospital.
The bodies were found scattered over different areas of Meknes; most were homeless alcoholics.
Police officers seized dozens of empty plastic bottles that contained sterilization alcohol, which caused the victims to succumb to the toxic substance.
Under the supervision of the public prosecutor, the suspects were remanded into police custody in order to complete the investigation.
