The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) has disbanded a terrorist cell operating in Tangier and affiliated with the ISIS organization. Comprising three individuals between the ages of 31 and 40, the network had been actively preparing for ominous activity aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of the Kingdom, according to a statement from BCIJ on Monday.
According to the preliminary investigation, the members of the terrorist cell had pledged allegiance to the self-proclaimed prince of ISIS. They were in the advanced stages of planning destructive acts targeting vital security installations, having already engaged in materials preparation and having gathered data on explosive manufacturing techniques.
The suspects had sought to establish ties with other terrorist elements operating outside the country, particularly with the aim of joining an ISIS branch in the coastal and Sahara regions.
The individuals who were arrested are now in provisional custody, allowing for further investigation into their ties to terrorist rings.
