Pfizer Laboratories Morocco signed, Wednesday in Rabat, two partnership agreements with the Health Ministry, in the presence of its Minister Khalid Ait Taleb and Pfizer representative in the Middle East, Russia, and Africa Patrick Van der Loo.
The agreements are part of the nationwide health coverage project, and are meant to fight antimicrobial resistance which has become a real public health issue.
The first agreement details the partnership between the laboratories and the ministry in terms of improving patient care, management, health ecosystems and access to innovative drugs.
The second falls under the 2019-2022 National Strategic Plan for Antimicrobial Resistance Prevention and Control, which is part of the 2025 Health Plan.
It specifies the contribution of these laboratories to building the capacities of microbiological labs in Moroccan hospitals. The agreement provides for medical and biological training for health professionals, as well as for developing scientific research and growing the awareness of the general public to antimicrobial resistance.
