In a joint operation, the Judicial Investigations Bureau (BCIJ) and Police Services apprehended on Wednesday seven individuals suspected of being part of a criminal network involving forgery, fraud, impersonation, and embezzlement.
Two of the suspects had been previously detained under anti-terrorism laws. The arrests took place in Salé and Meknes, according to a statement issued by BCIJ.
Preliminary investigations revealed that two of the apprehended individuals–in colluding with three dentistry specialists–had been unlawfully practicing dentistry in Salé. This illicit operation resulted in unauthorized surgical procedures, causing serious harm to victims.
Additionally, the suspects were found to be engaged in forging documents related to medical claims, with the intention of fraudulently obtaining financial reimbursements from health insurance companies, reserve funds, and social security institutions.
The detained individuals are currently in custody as investigations continue. Authorities are working to uncover the identities of other participants.
