The 3rd Russia-Morocco joint committee on fisheries convened, on May 16-17 in Rabat, to renew the deal inked in 2020, which is set to expire this year, according to Russia’s embassy Facebook account.
Head of Russian Fishery Agency “Rosrybolovstvo” Ilya Shestakov, who attended the event, said that he discussed with Moroccan officials the intensification of bilateral cooperation in the field of fisheries, mainly in the Atlantic coast.
A release by the Russian Agency said that the bilateral agreement covered collaboration in fishery research, including fishing operations, the improvement of catching and processing techniques, and the development of aquaculture.
The states plan to boost cooperation in shipbuilding and ship repair, fishing gear production, training, experience sharing, and marketing.
