The 4th Open Days, organized by the national police (DGSN) on May 17-21 in Fez, is expected to break all attendance records with nearly 145,000 visitors on May 17 alone. By Saturday, the number has already reached 749,000.
The event celebrates the anniversary of the Moroccan police’s creation and is held under the banner of “67 years of ongoing modernization of citizen-centered public service”.
The much-awaited event seeks to educate citizens about the various missions entrusted to law-enforcement officers and security units, and offer valuable insight into the Moroccan security apparatus.
A drone aerial video footage captured an amazing view of thousands of enthusiastic people, notably children and youngsters, heading to the site of the Police Open Days to visit the indoor stands and watch outdoor exercises and training sessions.
The event features 30 pavilions centered on the diverse security services offered by the police to enforce the law, investigate crimes and protect victims. The multiple stands include counterfeit forensics, composite sketches, armored vehicles, women drop-in center, IT and mobile units, facial recognition, cybercrimes, and special forces.
The celebration comprises simulations to neutralize terror threats, parades by the Rapid Intervention Group, the Motorcycle Brigade, the Mounted Police, and the Police Dog Unit; and workshops on e-identification and the new Moroccan Amber alert.
This commemoration is an occasion to look into the achievements of this top security institution and memorialize its members’ sense of devotion and loyalism.
