King Mohammed VI congratulated the players of the U-17 national soccer team, runners-up of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON-2023), on their remarkable achievement and qualification for the tournament.
Senegal’s Young Lions of Teranga had defeated Morocco’s Atlas Lions 2-1 in Algeria and won the U-17 AFCON 2023.
The Sovereign voiced his pride in the Atlas Cubs’ astounding maturity and discipline, great performance, competitive spirit, and high standards of morality during this championship.
He also commended their firm determination to hold the torch of Moroccan soccer and to confirm its presence in the various continental and international events.
In this regard, the King lauded efforts by all members of this promising squad, including coaches, technicians, and the Moroccan Football Federation staff.
