Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be flown to Jeddah by a French government jet to the 32nd Arab League Summit in Saudi Arabia on Friday, reported Reuters.
The source added it is a chance for the Ukrainian leader to persuade friends and nations who have thus far remained neutral in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
With a Ukrainian onslaught likely to ensue in the near future, the source said it was critical for Zelensky to keep the pressure on his G7 partners–whom he will meet at Saturday’s summit in Japan—in order to obtain their military backing.
Zelensky may also attempt to meet with leaders from India, Indonesia, and Brazil who will also be present at the gathering on Sunday.
Morocco’s Prince Moulay Rachid arrived in Jeddah on Friday to represent King Mohammed VI at the Arab League summit.
The summit will note the absence of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
