Minister of Culture Mehdi Bensaid has announced exciting plans for the 28th Literary Extravaganza “the International Book Fair” or SIEL. The event will take place on June 1-11, 2023, in Rabat, and is expected to showcase a vast array of literary and cultural treasures.
This year’s fair will have Quebec as a special guest, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Canada.
With 737 exhibitors from 51 countries and various cultural institutions, the fair serves as a vibrant platform for promoting literature and fostering intercultural dialogue.
The minister said that a dynamic cultural program is planned, with 661 Moroccan and foreign writers, thinkers and poets participating in 221 events.
The expo will also cater for children by providing them with scientific and artistic workshops to nurture and stimulate young minds.
The choice of Rabat as the fair’s venue for the second consecutive year underscores the growing importance of Rabat in the fields of culture and arts, and as a center of creativity.
