Moroccan footballer Zakaria Aboukhlal has been suspended recently for allegedly insulting Laurence Arribagé, the deputy mayor, during the French Cup celebration at the Capitol building.
However, a recent internal investigation by Toulouse FC has cleared Aboukhlal’s name and lifted the suspension that had prevented him from participating in group training. The club announced on social media that the Moroccan international has resumed training.
Toulouse FC’s internal investigation found that the allegations against Aboukhlal were unfounded as the information reported by “RMC Sports” did match the actual happenings.
Zakaria Aboukhlal is involved in another controversy as he refused to take part in the matches of the 35th round of the French League 1 “Ligue1” wearing a rainbow jersey promoting homosexuality.
Algerian Farès Chaïbi, Logan Costa from Cape Verde, Malian Moussa Diarra, and Bosnian Saïd Hamulic also refused to participate in the tournament for the same reason.
