The Sudan Doctors’ Union announced a grim milestone on Tuesday, revealing that the number of civilian casualties has risen to 822, with 3,215 wounded since the beginning of the clash between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.
In a statement issued by the union, as reported by the Anadolu Agency, the ongoing conflict has resulted in additional casualties in the capital city of Khartoum and in several states.
“The new deaths and injuries, which have been documented, include Khartoum, Al-Ubayyid, and the city of Geneina in the state of West Darfur,” specified the union.
Sudan has been plagued by escalating violence between the two above-referenced factions since mid-April.
