Minister of Culture Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid inaugurated, Monday in Rabat Mohammed V theatre, the first Digital Arts festival “TiFAWT” within the framework of Rabat Capital of the African Culture.
Arts Director at the same ministry Mohamed Benyaacoub confirmed that digital lighting effects and music are strongly present in TiFAWT, adding that modern arts are more inspiring for youth than traditional ones as they give them a more developed sense of creativity.
He said that the festival encompasses several artistic performances and meetings, in addition to the participation of students of Tetouan National Institute of Fine Arts as well as other institutions specializing in the same field.
This event is using digital technology which includes software, computers, and other electronic devices. The physical exhibition offers the visitors a venue where they can discover works of different genres such as photography, digital painting, animation, pixel art, and digital sculpture.
This type of art opens up a new range of possibilities for artists, who can create virtual environments and manipulate alternative physical and psychological spaces in the digital realm to reach new, global audiences.
The festivities will begin in Mahaj Riad on March 17. Festival Director Majid Sadati said that the event will bring together numerous international and African digital artworks.
