The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) are celebrating, this Sunday, their 67th anniversary, an occasion to honor the pivotal role played by this institution to defend the homeland and protect its territorial integrity.
Loyal to their eternal slogan “God, the Homeland, the King”, the Royal Armed Forces, including their air, land and sea troops and the Royal Gendarmerie, have always made huge sacrifices and tireless efforts to serve the lofty principles of devotion, solidarity and loyalism, and ensure the nation’s security and the citizens’ tranquility.
Equipped with top-quality training, the FAR elements can carry out security and military missions and are well-experienced in risk and crisis management.
Drawing on such assets, Morocco has become an active and reliable partner in peacekeeping operations, as various of its contingents are working side by side with the United Nations.
On this occasion, King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of FAR General Staff sent an order of the day to officers, non-commissioned officers, and privates.
The sovereign commended the FAR’s role in defending the nation’s immutable, sacred values, underlining the pressing need for vigilance, adaptation and development to address the emerging threats. The Monarch called for boosting the country’s defenses in the light of the geostrategic mutations happening internationally, particularly logistics, human resources, scientific research, and information technology.
In this regard, the King announced the creation of the Royal Center for Defense Studies and Research, under the Royal College for Higher Military Studies. The new center will be tasked with dealing with security and military challenges and building the capacities of civil and military elements.
On the military service, the King said that he sees to it that the new soldiers receive a combination of military and vocational training to boost their self-esteem and discipline, and make them worthy of the mission entrusted to them.
