Police services dismantled, Thursday, an 18-member criminal ring engaged in fraud and data hacking. Three French citizens of Moroccan and Tunisian origin were among the group.
The suspects are accused of posing as bank agents to steal banking data, which they used to make fraudulent transactions for the benefit of the criminal network.
The suspects were apprehended during operations in Marrakech and Casablanca. Computer equipment and cash in both local and foreign currencies were seized.
The suspects are held in provisional detention while investigations are going on to determine the ramifications of such criminal activities both domestically and internationally.
