Morocco is set to host the second edition of “Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean region” (MeetMED) Week in Marrakech from May 9 to 11, 2023.
The EU-funded MeetMED aims to strengthen regional cooperation on energy transition in Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries.
The Kingdom is geared towards ensuring energy sovereignty and low-carbon economy as per its commitment to environmental and energy transition, said the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE) in a press release.
Debates are scheduled between policymakers and stakeholders on decarbonization and sustainable practices.
The event seeks to create a more competitive and resilient socio-economic environment, while boasting Morocco’s assets in public and private ecosystems.
The MeetMED II is developed by the Mediterranean Association of National Agencies for Energy Management (MEDENER) and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE).
The agenda includes a visit to Ben Guerir Green Energy Park, a unique platform for experimentation, research, and training in renewable energy.
