14,800 Americans have lost their lives in the US since the year’s commencement as a consequence of gun violence and criminal activity, according to figures issued on Monday by the Gun Violence Archive.
Most of the deaths are fire suicide cases (8,448), while 6,352 fatalities are due to homicides and murders.
More than 90 kids aged from 0 to 11 were killed in mass shootings and murders, while 214 were injured.
526 teens (aged 12 to 17) perished in the shootings, and 1,276 were wounded.
The latest shooting occurred on Saturday in Texas when a gunman fired at a crowded mall north of Dallas. At least 8 people were killed and 7 others, including children, were injured.
Following this tragedy, US President Joe Biden has once again urged Congress to prohibit the use of weapons and to enact legislation that would limit access to firearms.
