Irregular migrant arrivals in Spain from Morocco during the 2023 Q1 decreased by approximately 41%, according to Spain’s Interior Ministry statistics.
The figures showed that 5,208 illegal migrants entered Spain from Morocco from Jan 1 to Apr 15, added the ministry.
Irregular entries to Spain from Algeria increased by more than 48% during the same period, reaching 2,516 migrants compared to 700 a year earlier.
The ministry also said that there is a significant drop in arrivals to Spain from Morocco, year on year, as 2022 registered 9,302 migrants.
