The Moroccan embassy in the United States opened its doors to the public for the first time, reported American news outlet Fox 5 DC.
The event showcased Moroccan culture and traditions such as the ubiquitous Moroccan mint tea, crafts, food, music, and architecture and design (i.e., ceramics, clay, and carved wood).
There are also exhibits dedicated to handicrafts, featuring traditional costumes such as the jellaba and the caftan, and to Henna (tattoo) artistry.
The aim of this event is to strengthen the U.S.-Morocco bilateral relationship in the area of tourism, noted Fox 5 DC reporter Taylor Grenda.
Public tours of the facility will take place in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, May 6.
