A fourth and final RAM plane departing Sudan–carrying 125 Moroccan and Sub-Saharan evacuees–left the coastal city of Port Sudan on Tuesday and arrived at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport.
Returnees included nationals from several African countries, including Senegal, Gabon, the Congo, Mali, and Burkina Faso, in reflection of the values of active solidarity among African nations which has always defined King Mohammed VI regarding his policy on regional and multilateral relations.
The number of beneficiaries who have escaped from hostilities in Sudan and returned to Morocco has now totaled 572, following King’s mandated airlift operation to ensure the safe return of those individuals residing in Sudan.
Citizens of this war-torn country have been forced to endure violent clashes between the nation’s army and the Rapid Support Forces Network (RSF), which have resulted in hundreds of fatalities and tens of thousands of injuries since April 15 of this year.
