The Moroccan male boxing team is participating in the 2023 International Boxing Association (IBA) World Boxing Championships taking place in Tashkent from now through May 15.
The team is comprised of seven boxers; the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation reports their names and corresponding weight classes as follows: Hamza Saidi (48 kg); Said Moutaraji (51 kg); Slimane Samgouli (57 kg); Mohamed Hamout (60 kg); Abdelhaq Nadir (63.5 kg); Hamza el Barbari (71 kg); and Mohamed Saghir (80 kg).
The Moroccan delegation is also accompanied at the event by National Director Othman Fadili and coach Hicham Nafil.
Upon arrival in the Central Asian nation–and in preparation for their respective matches–the athletes trained alongside previously acclaimed international boxing champions throughout the week prior, in order to gauge and monitor their endurance and strength levels relative to their corresponding targets as their competition dates drew near.
