The Party of Nation Libya strongly opposed what it considered to be the interference in its domestic agenda by the Algerian ambassador to Tripoli, and called for a response that would appropriately denounce this attempt at meddling.
The party indicated in a statement that the ambassador in question phoned the Libyan foreign minister in a brazen assertion that Algeria is not satisfied with the Libyan lower house’s work, and that the Algerian ambassador used military language in ordering the above-referenced minister to dissolve that legislative body.
Not only did the Libyan minister refuse to take the course of action demanded by Algeria–for what amounted to simply conducting everyday, routine domestic affairs–he called for the Libyan house to issue a formal statement of condemnation regarding Algeria’s attempt to subvert Libyan sovereignty, in a united effort to unmask its disrespectful diplomacy.
