Renault Group’s global sales amounted to 535,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2023, up 14.1% versus Q1 2022, reaching a revenue of €11.5 billion, said Renault in a statement.
In Europe, the Group’s sales increased by 27.3%, surpassing a 16.2% market growth.
The Automotive revenue climbed by 29.7% vs Q1 2022, reaching €10.5 billion.
In the Group’s five major European countries, 68% of Group sales are made via the retail channel.
Of particular note, C-segment (compact car) sales in Europe under the Renault brand increased by more than 51% relative to the first quarter of 2022.
Renault Austral alone has already recorded 15,500 sales in the first three months of calendar year 2023. Cumulative orders since the announcement of its launch have reached 40,000 units.
Renault Megane E-TECH Electric tabulated over 11,000 sales in Q1 of this year. Orders exceeded 54,000 units.
Renault Arkana recorded more than 18,500 sales in the first quarter, of which 60% comprised the E-TECH version.
Dacia sales were up 41% in Q1, approaching 150,000 units in Europe thanks to the successful renewal of its range. Dacia Sandero remains the best retail seller in Europe.
The Renault brand maintained its dominant position in Europe in the first quarter, accounting for 38% of the brand’s passenger car sales on the continent.
Dacia Spring (100% electric) recorded close to 110,000 orders in Europe since its launch.
