Nearly three out of four French citizens are dissatisfied with Emmanuel Macron, whose popularity has reached new lows since the Yellow Vests crisis in 2018, wrote a study conducted by the IFOP Institute on Sunday.
Only 26% of those polled are pleased with the president, a two-point dip from March, which makes Macron lose 15 points overall y-o-y, according to the IFOP’s monthly barometer.
Of the 72% of French people who are dissatisfied with the President of the Republic, 47% are “very dissatisfied,” a seven-point rise showing a growing anger, notably following the April 15 push for the controversial pension reform bill.
Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne is following suit: just 27% of respondents are happy with her actions, a two-point drop.
1,955 persons of the French population aged 18 and above participated in the survey conducted from Apr. 14 to 21.
